No. Your local utility will remain the same and will continue to deliver energy to your home or business, just like they did when you bought your energy supply from them.
In order for XOOM Energy ONT, ULC to offer and fulfill its term obligation to you, we have to purchase natural gas and electricity in advance of usage to cover the entire length of your contract. If you cancel your contract early, XOOM Energy ONT, ULC needs to offset the cost of selling the unused portion of your natural gas and electricity to others. The Cancellation Fee covers this cost and any other expenses we incur because of your cancellation. A Cancellation Fee does not apply to all plans.

No. You will continue to receive a bill from your local utility. XOOM Energy charges will appear as a line item on your bill.
The global adjustment (GA) will appear as a line item on your electricity bill. Unlike with the utility, the GA is not included in XOOM Energy ONT, ULC’s electricity rate. It will appear as a credit or charge determined by the Ontario government to be assigned to all Ontario electricity consumers. The 10-day cooling off period is given to the customer to review their decision to switch to XOOM Energy ONT, ULC. On the 11th day, the customer will be contacted via text message and/or email providing them with two options to verify their enrollment. The customer can click the link to complete the verification online or call the phone number listed to verify their enrollment.The verification of the enrollment is necessary for the enrollment to be processed and approved. The enrollment will be canceled if the customer has taken no action by the 45th day.
XOOM Energy ONT, ULC service will typically commence on your meter read date immediately following your successful enrollment in our program, meaning it may take 60-90 days for natural gas and 15-60 days for electricity.
You will receive an email 120 days prior and another email 60 days prior to your contract ending with full instructions on how to renew. If you take no action to renew, your contract will not automatically renew and you will be returned back to your local utility.
